Sony CFM outsources EDI to UpNet Technologies

To decreases cost and increase efficiencies, Sony CFM, a third party logistics company with an expertise in the distribution of products to a large network of locations, has advanced their EDI department's capabilities through a partnership with UpNet Technologies.

UpNet's complete solution will serve as Sony CFM's EDI department dealing with both customer orders and carrier related documents including shipment tender, BOL, shipment status, and freight invoices. Sony CFM's partners can focus on their core business of getting great products to market. UpNet's unique innovative technology allows Sony CFM to connect with their trading partners without adding any cost to their trading partners. "Sony CFM's trading partners will be able to seamlessly communicate with greater speed and accuracy, as well as minimizing the costs associated with customized mapping" said UpNet CEO Jennifer Amys.

Sony CFM is the fifth Sony division to choose UpNet for an EDI solution supporting both internal and external customers. Sony DADC division recently acquired a transportation company and needed to quickly integrate both customer and supplier communications to their other systems.
