Minneapolis, MN – Jennifer Amys, CEO of UpNet Technologies, has been awarded with the 2012 Innovation in Technology Award from The National Association of Women Business Owners, Minnesota Chapter (NAWBO-MN). Every year, NAWBO-MN recognizes Twin Cities Women Business Owners that have made a mark in the local business community with their innovation and excellence at the ACHIEVE! Awards Gala.
The 2012 Innovation in Technology Award is awarded to the most innovative woman in the areas of information technology, software development, manufacturing, nanotechnology and other high-technology areas. It is based on an individual's overall leadership, technical innovation, company growth and community involvement.
Jennifer has been responsible for driving the vision to become the premier player in data integration, while leveraging global business analytics and empowering businesses of all sizes. Her visionary and forward-thinking skills culminated in the design and development of the next iteration of iEDeX™, UpNet's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that integrates all disparate data sources and allows companies to utilize what was once unattainable data in the formulation of KPIs for global business analytics. Under Jennifer's leadership, UpNet has grown its customer base to include several multi-national clients, including Sony Corporation.
Prior to co-founding UpNet, Jennifer held the position of Chief Information Officer at Rockwell Automation, a $4 billion leader in electronic controls, industrial automation, avionics and electronic commerce employing 19,000 people, with more than 450 locations in 80 countries. Jennifer came to Rockwell from CH Robinson Worldwide, a third-party logistics company with sales of $7.5 billion+. At Robinson, Jennifer served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer where she managed IT services in more than 120 branch offices worldwide. Jennifer's accomplishments during the 90's were nothing short of extraordinary, given that they occurred during a time when very few women served in executive leadership roles in manufacturing and transportation.
Jennifer is a member of NAWBO, WBENC, MMSDC, and MEDA and has actively sought to work with MBEs, WBEs, and other disadvantaged businesses. In 2008, Jennifer was awarded the 2007 MEDA Mentoring Relationship of the Year Award.
Jennifer holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Taiwan.
